 Ange Postecoglou’s brief tenure at Nottingham Forest came to an abrupt end on Saturday, as the club sacked the Australian manager immediately following their 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea.

d in September to replace Nuno Espirito Santo, Postecoglou failed to deliver a single win in eight matches across all competitions. Forest’s latest loss at the City Ground proved the final straw for owner Evangelos Marinakis, who wasted no time pulling the trigger in what’s shaping up to be a chaotic season for the club.

Despite flashes of attacking promise—Elliot Anderson and Morgan Gibbs-White created chances, and Igor Jesus struck the crossbar—Forest were outclassed by goals from Chelsea’s Josh Acheampong, Pedro Neto, and Reece James.

Under Postecoglou, Forest recorded two draws (against Burnley and Real Betis) but were beaten by Arsenal, Swansea City, Sunderland, Midtjylland, Newcastle, and now Chelsea. The sacking marks Marinakis’s second managerial change of the season, with a third head coach now set to take the reins at a club that began the campaign with ambitions of building on their return to European competition.
