Kennedy Agyapong Secures Top Spot on NPP Ballot Ahead of Presidential Primaries

Kennedy Agyapong will appear first on the ballot in the New Patriotic Party’s upcoming presidential primaries.

The former Assin Central MP picked the number one slot during the party’s official balloting exercise held Friday at NPP headquarters in Accra. The draw determines the order in which aspirants will appear on the ballot paper for the highly anticipated primaries later this month.

Here’s how the ballot positions lined up:

  1. Kennedy Agyapong

  2. Bryan Acheampong

  3. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia

  4. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum

  5. Kwabena Agyepong

The process was overseen by the party’s elections committee.

Speaking after the draw, spokesperson for Agyapong’s campaign, Kwasi Kwarteng, called the number one spot a sign of what’s to come. “It’s a symbol of victory,” he said.

The NPP primaries are shaping up to be one of the most competitive internal contests in the party’s recent history, with five candidates vying for the presidential ticket.
